Disposing of Japanese knotweed

Japanese knotweed is an invasive weed that grows extremely quickly and can swamp nearby vegetation. It can cause damage to pavings, roads, walls and buildings due to its strong growth.

If you find Japanese knotweed you should do one of the following.

  • If it is growing on a public street report it to Street Care on 020 7926 9000.
  • If it is on your council property report it to Lambeth Living on 020 7926 6000.
  • If it is on your private property you are responsible for removing it.
