Refuse collections

We provide a weekly refuse collection service for every home, replace stolen or damaged bins, and can arrange to make assisted collections.

We make collections from over 120,000 households every week, providing a service Lambeth residents can rely on for the efficient removal and disposal of their household rubbish.

When are the refuse collections?

We collect all your recycling and rubbish on the same day, once a week. You can check the collection day for your street by viewing or downloading the relevant document below.

  • The documents above only cover wheelie bin and orange sack/green box collections. If your rubbish is collected from bulk bins or your recycling is collected from containers, please contact us.
  • Collection days may be changed around Christmas day and New Year's day (details of any changes will be posted on this site). Collection days are not changed around other public/bank holidays.

Bulky refuse collections

We can arrange collections of bulky refuse items such as: beds, mattresses, wardrobes, vacuum cleaners, microwaves, fridges, freezers, cookers, washing machines, sofas, tables, drawers, TVs, carpets or bags.

Damaged and missing bins

Our services

  • If you're physically unable to put out your bin, and you don't have anyone who can help you, we can arrange to make assisted collections.
  • We provide wheelie bins for the safe and convenient storage of your refuse.
  • We provide a commercial waste service to businesses.
  • We only make changes to the refuse collection schedules at Christmas and New Year, and always notify you in advance.
  • We don't pick up builders, clinical or hazardous waste - please contact us to find out how we can help you dispose of it safely.

What you can do to help

  • Make sure you put your rubbish out on time, by 6am on collection day.
  • Leave your bin at the inside edge of your property, to make it accessible to the refuse collectors.
  • Don't overfill communal bins or put refuse around them.
  • Don't leave bulky items out with the rubbish: they can't be taken away with household refuse. Contact us to arrange a free bulky refuse collection.
  • Recycle as much as you can using our recycling collections and recycling sites.

Our service standards

  • We ensure all premises receive their scheduled collection.
  • We put right missed collections within 24 hours of being notified.
  • Bins are returned to inside the front boundary of your property.
  • We always publicise changes to collection days in advance.
  • Stolen bins are replaced within ten days.
  • We arrange free bulky refuse collections within seven days.
