The big care debate

At the end of last year, the Government consulted on the Green Paper "Shaping the Future of Care Together", which proposed the creation of a new care and support system for the future, including the creation on a new National Care Service. The Green Paper also proposed a national standard assessment process and a range of options for funding.

In Lambeth, we held a public consultation meeting at Lambeth Town Hall on 15 October 2009 to hear what people had to say about these proposals. The consultation ended on 6 November 2009.

We used your views to develop the council's response to the Department of Health's national consultation exercise "The Big Care Debate."
