Children, young people and families

A woman and child

Sometimes families find it difficult to cope. Perhaps you are having difficulties with one or more of your children.

Maybe you need practical support or someone to talk to. We may be able to help.

We know that with a little help, most families can sort out their own problems. Our aim is to help you do that.

Childcare

Information for parents and childcarers about childcare provision in Lambeth.

Child protection

We provide a family support and child protection service for people who have been assessed as being 'in need' by social services.

Corporate parenting

It is the legal duty of Lambeth Council to make sure that every child and young person in their care does not miss out, and are provided with opportunities so that they can reach their full potential.

Family support

We provide information about family support and can arrange services for children and families who have been assessed as being 'in need'.

Fostering, adoption and looked after children

Services for children and young people who cannot stay with their own parents, and information for people who would like to give a child a home.

Integrated Services for Children (IS4C)

IS4C is a national government programme for the well-being of children and young people from birth to age 19, putting them at the centre of all policies and approaches to delivering services.

Teenage pregnancy

We work with partner organisations and communities, and within the council, to reduce teenage conceptions and births to teenage mothers in Lambeth.
