Teenage pregnancy

We work with partner organisations and communities, and within the council, to reduce teenage conceptions and births to teenage mothers in Lambeth.

Over the past few years a range of new services supporting young people and young parents have been developed in Lambeth.

The Teenage Pregnancy Strategy, along with a number of other initiatives, has focused on the work of local agencies - both statutory and voluntary - to develop new imaginative partnerships and services.

These aim to provide a range of accessible facilities, where information, advice and other services are available in ways that suit young people and how they live their lives. It is now important that we raise awareness of these local services, not only to young people, but crucially, to those who work with them.

Note: All services, whatever your age, are free and confidential.

Sexual health clinics - all age groups

If you want to be tested, treated or simply want to find out more about contraception, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), smear tests (cervical cancer screening test) or pregnancy tests, contact the clinics below.

They can also hook you up with other services.

Your family doctor or nurse can also provide you with confidential advice and treatment.

Free emergency hormonal contraception (EHC)

The following are pharmacies where you can get free emergency hormonal contraception (EHC) (even if you're under 16).

You’ll know it as the Morning After Pill, its full title is the Emergency Hormonal Contraceptive pill (EHC). You can take it up to 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy. But don’t hang around: it works best if you take it as soon as possible after sex.
