Access to services

Details of many of the services available to people with health care issues, including HIV and AIDS are given in services for adults. These services can be provided according to your needs following a needs assessment. For more information, please refer to how to get our support.

Going into hospital

If you are going into hospital you should immediately notify the Department for Work and Pensions and the council office that deals with your claims for housing and council tax benefit.

Hospital social work for children and families

We provide a hospital social work service for children and families who live in Lambeth and have been assessed under the Children Act 1989 as being 'in need'.

Hospital social work for older people

Lambeth adults' and community services has social workers at St Thomas' Hospital and at Kings College Hospital who can help you to plan your care on leaving hospital.

Leaving hospital

If you are going into hospital you may need help when you leave to continue to live in your home. If requested, a social worker  will look into what help you need and decide with you what services can be provided.

Substance misuse

Information about services available for people who have problems with drug or alcohol misuse.

Support for children with HIV or AIDS

We provide services for children and families who have, or are affected by, HIV or AIDS.
