Services for adults with learning disabilities
We will find out what help adults with learning disabilities need and give them the support that they need. We will give support to people:
- who need help in their day to day lives
- who are at risk of being badly treated
If someone asks for our support we will talk to them to find out what help they need. This is called a needs assessment.
Once we know what support people need we will talk to them and work out the best way to give them that help. We will try to make sure they get the service they need.
Some people may be able to get direct payments so they can decide on the services they want themselves.
In Control
In Control project is about giving people more choice and control over the services they receive and changing the way they live their lives. Since 2006, Lambeth Council, together with its partners, has been working towards implementing In-Control in the borough.
Meetings and groups
We also have regular meetings of the learning disability partnership board so that we can make sure we provide the best service possible. We also have regular meetings of the culturally diverse learning disabilities group.
We also provide services for children with special educational needs.
