Shopping service
A shopping service is available to residents of Lambeth who are considered to be in need of it following a needs assessment.
The service
The delivery and collection service is provided through an external shopping service provider.
The provider will purchase your shopping on your behalf at Tesco, and you will pay for the cost of your groceries directly to the service provider.
There is a charge of £10 per shop in addition to the cost of your groceries and we will invoice you directly for this.
You are required to undergo a financial assessment in order to determine how much you can afford to contribute towards the cost of providing this service.
The delivery day will depend on where you live. Once you have given them your postcode, they will tell you the days that your groceries can be delivered.
They will deliver your groceries but will not unpack them for you, if you require assistance with this it will be provided according to your needs assessment.
Payment for the service can be made by cash or cheque directly to the driver when they deliver the shopping, or by sending a cheque in the post to the service provider.
How to access the service
You will need to have a needs assessment. The needs assessment will cover all of the services you may require from adult social services and these will be written in your care plan.
If you are assessed as needing this service then your requirements and convenient delivery times will be discussed.
Your contact details and your requirements as discussed will then be forwarded to the service provider.
Once the service provider has received the service user details, the service should start within one week.
