Specialist equipment

Equipment will only be offered on loan after an assessment of need has been made by an occupational therapist. Some specialist nursing equipment may also be available through your GP or district nurse.

There is a variety of equipment available from Lambeth adult and community services to help you with everyday tasks in your home.

To arrange an assessment please contact the Lambeth service centre on 020 7926 5555, and they will pass you through to a referral and information officer who will be able to arrange it for you.

How much will it cost?

Any equipment which adult and community services can loan you to help around the home, is available free of charge.

For people able and wanting to fund their own equipment and adaptations, advice and information is available by contacting us or contacting the Disabled Living Foundation.

Professional advice from an occupational therapist can help you to select the right equipment to suit your needs and prevent you from making mistakes which could harm you and cost you money.

It is important to find out what equipment is available and, if possible, try it out before you buy anything. To arrange an assessment and for more information contact the service centre on  020 7926 5555.

Returning equipment

If you are no longer using the equipment, or not using it for the purpose for which it was issued to you then it will be collected.

Please inform the Lambeth service centre on 020 7926 5555 to arrange for its collection. Please ensure that equipment is clean before it is collected.

Damaged or broken equipment

As soon as you notice that any piece of equipment issued to you by Lambeth occupational therapy service is damaged or not working, you must call the Lambeth service centre on 020 7926 5555.

The use of broken or damaged equipment could put your safety at risk and you should not use it until you have arranged for it to be repaired or replaced.
