Asking for our support

There are several ways to contact us. You can ask someone else, such as a friend, relative or your GP, to contact us for you. If you are in hospital, you can speak to a nurse or social worker.

If you want to contact us directly you can do so in a number of ways:

By phone

You can call the Lambeth service centre on 020 7926 5555 and the staff there will put you through to the team most able to help you. To help them to put you through as quickly as possible it would be helpful if you could provide the following information:

  • the name and address of your GP
  • your address
  • your date of birth

Please note that calls to Lambeth Council may be monitored or recorded.

In person

You can drop in to the joint service centre in Streatham to discuss your needs. The service centre is located at:
Lambeth Contact
85-87 Streatham High Road
London SW16 1PH

In writing

You can contact teams in writing, either by post or email. To find the contact details for individual teams please use the service menu on the left hand side of the page to browse to the service you require. Their contact details should be listed in the contacts box on the right hand side of the page.

What happens once you've contacted us

Once you have asked us for support, we will contact you, and, if necessary, will carry out an assessment of your needs. An assessment is an opportunity for you to let us know what difficulties you have and what help you feel you need. If we do not offer you an assessment of your needs, we will contact you to explain why.

We will then provide services according to your assessed needs. For more information about how we work out which services you will require please see our booklets on eligibility criteria:
