We are responsible for ensuring that all notifiable work carried out within the borough complies with the London Building Acts (Amendment) Act 1939 or the Building Regulations 2000. We also issue licences for temporary structures, and deal with dangerous structures and fire safety.
Future of Building Control - Building Notice survey
The Department for Communities and Local Government has just published a consultation document on proposals for the future development of the Building Control System.
One of the proposals in the consultation paper is to stop the use of Building Notices for major domestic projects, such as extensions and conversions.
