Parking Permits for Housing Estates

Residents need to apply for parking permits in order to be able to park on various Lambeth estates across the borough. These can be obtained from your local housing office. You can apply for a:

  • Resident's permit
  • Visitor's permit (for a family member / friend)

Information to bring to be issued a permit

  • Proof of tenancy
  • Proof of identity
  • Vehicle log book (V5) (proof of ownership of vehicle)
  • Driver's licence
  • M.O.T certificate
  • Insurance certificate

Refusal of Parking permits

You will be refused a parking permit if:

  • Your rent account is in arrears of one weeks net rent (one month for leaseholders) or more
  • Lambeth Council have initiated legal action for nuisance

Also a residents parking permit is only valid for the duration of the customer's car insurance (if the vehicle is under three years old), MOT (if the vehicle is over three years old) or road tax, whichever comes first.

Different estates may have different parking permit requirements

And may allow different numbers of parking permits per household. Tenant Managed Estates (TMO's) may also have different permit rules for their estates. If a resident has applied for a Statutory off Road Notice (SORN) from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), they can apply for a parking permit for the duration of the notice. The SORN must be clearly displayed in the vehicle.
