Estates in Bloom categories and prizes
There are seven award categories (listed below) plus an overall award.
The prizes for the first four categories are as follows.
- First prize, £175 gift voucher and certificate
- Second prize, £100 gift voucher and certificate
- Third prize, £50 gift voucher and certificate
The overall winner will receive a £500 gift voucher, trophy to keep for the year and a certificate.
The prizes for the other categories are outlined below.
- Domestic grassed garden - an external garden display at the front, rear or side of a domestic property which includes a grass area.

- Domestic paved garden - an external garden display at the front, rear or side of a domestic property which includes a paved area without grass.
Prize: see above
- Domestic balcony display or container display - an external garden display at the front, rear or side of a domestic property which has been created within the balcony area or on the railings using pots, planters, window boxes, hanging baskets etc.

- Young gardener - young person under 18 who
has created an attractive garden display.
Prize: see above
- Community garden - an external garden display devised in partnership with local residents for the benefit of, and use by, all residents.
Prize: £400 worth of vouchers for plants or garden improvements of their choice.
- Sheltered scheme garden - an external garden display within or immediately outside the sheltered scheme, created by the scheme’s residents for their benefit and use.
Prize: £400 worth of vouchers for plants or garden improvements of their choice.
- Best kept estate – Please nominate your estate
if you feel that the communal plantings and horticultural displays are attractive.
Prize: £1000 worth of vouchers for plants or garden improvements of their choice.
