Estates in Bloom competition 2008
Lambeth's annual gardening competition, Estates in Bloom, has launched so residents the length and breadth of the borough should dust off their rakes and fill up their watering cans in preparation for the big gardening show-down.
This is the eighth annual Estates in Bloom competition and it gets bigger and more popular every year.
Lambeth's green-fingered tenants, residents and leaseholders are encouraged to indulge their passion for gardening and enter the competition to grow the most colourful and decorative gardens.
Garden Categories
The seven categories for entry cover most interests and abilities. The seven categories are:
- Domestic Grassed Garden
- Domestic Paved Garden
- Domestic Balcony or Container Display
- Community Garden
- Sheltered Housing Scheme Garden
- Best Kept Estate
- Young Gardener.

To enter the competion you can download the entry form or email almocomms@lambeth.gov.uk for a hard copy. Alternatively hard copies will be available from Area Housing Offices and Libraries.
Deadline for entries is Friday 4 July 2008.

2007 overall winner
Prizes for the 2008 competition range from £1000 for the best kept estate, £500 for the overall winner down to £50 for placing third in the individual categories.
The event is made possible with the help of four sponsors, Axis Europe, Connaught, Morrisons and Pinnacle.
