Housing associations and co-ops
This section provides information on Housing associations, housing trusts and housing co-ops. This includes what their roles are and how to apply for properties.
These are independent 'registered social landlords' not private landlords. They provide housing in a very similar way to the council and are non-profit making.
Housing co-operatives are group of people who jointly own, manage and control their homes. The properties belong to the co-op as a whole. Co-op members do not own their individual homes, but are tenants and pay rent to the co-op.
