Want to buy but can't afford it?

If you are a secure Lambeth Council tenant and want to buy a home on the open market in the UK, we might be able to help.

We can offer grants of up to £38,500 if you give up your current council property through our 'Cash Incentive Scheme' which was launched at the Residents' Conference on 18 November 2006.

To qualify you will need to have lived in a Lambeth council home for over 3 years, be a secure tenant with Lambeth and have no debt to the council including rent and council tax.

The amount you can receive is based on the size of your home that you will be giving back to the council. Examples of what you could receive is set out below:

• Two bedrooms property - £20,000
• Three bedrooms property - £25,000
• Four bedrooms property - £30,000 
• Five bedroom or larger property - £35,000

As a bonus, if you stay living in Lambeth you can qualify for an additional 10% up to a maximum of £38,500.
