Copies of decision notices

You can find the majority of planning application decision notices through our online Planning applications database, which has records of all applications from 1986 onwards including copies of the great majority of decision notices issued. Applications that were withdrawn before a decision was made will usually not have any kind of notice available.

If you have an old planning application reference number for a decision made between 1984 and 1996, you will need to change the format of the reference so that it works with our current system. For example: 1083/87/23247 or 93/1325/36769 would need to change to a format of: YY/XXXXX/PLANAP, where ‘YY’ stands for the year code and ‘XXXXX’ stands for the case reference number which must be a 5 digit number. Please note that you might need to add ‘0’ in front of your case reference number. In the cases above the revised format searchable reference number would be: 87/01083/PLANAP and 93/01325/PLANAP

For older decision notices, those issued before 1986, and any missing notices you can request an electronic copy of the notice by emailing PlanningNotices@Lambeth.gov.uk providing the information needed to identify the correct decision notice; address, description of development date of decision, and any reference numbers you have. If the notices you are seeking come from the results of a land charges search then it can be helpful to include a scan of the results, particularly where there are several notices.

If you need to request a large number of electronic notices that are not available via the planning applications database we may require payment of a fee to cover our administrative costs. If this is the case we will contact you before carrying out the request to let you know the required fee.

If you would like a paper copy of the decision to be sent to you then please write to us at the above address enclosing a cheque made payable to “London Borough of Lambeth” for £10 per decision plus 50p postage. Please remember to include your name and address together with the information needed to identify the correct decision notice; address, description of development date of decision, and any reference numbers.

Certificates of completion relate to building regulations and our Building Control team are responsible for these – please email buildingcontrol@lambeth.gov.uk for more information. A fee is payable for copies of building regulation notices.

Register of historic decision notices

Our Vauxhall office reception area at the address shown above has two PC’s that have access to scanned copies of historic decision notices. These are in around 400 large electronic files, listed by road, in property number order and contain copies of decision notices issued prior to 2005. On screen instructions are provided and you can come and use this facility on a self service basis during weekdays.
