Planning and environmental issues

We seek to promote the economic, social and environmental well-being of Lambeth and its people. Our planning polices promote sustainable development to address climate change and environmental sustainability.

Our commitment to housing sustainability

We are committed to:

  • sustainable construction which promotes healthy, secure, warm homes, while protecting the environment. On all construction projects we intend to reduce environmental impact, set quality standards and seek low maintenance technical solutions.
  • purchasing timber from legal and accredited sustainable sources
  • promoting energy efficiency, carbon reduction and renewable energy.

We aim to improve our environmental performance and to influence the behaviour of other organisations and individuals in a positive way.
