Lambeth Local Development Scheme
The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 introduced a requirement for local planning authorities to prepare and submit Local Development Schemes (LDS) to government offices for future approval. The Greater London Authority Act 2007 then transferred the responsibility for approval to the Greater London Authority (GLA).
Local Development Schemes are public statements of a local planning authority's intended programme of preparation of planning documents for three years ahead.
Lambeth's first three LDSs were dated March 2005, December 2005 and February 2008. These have now been superseded by a new LDS which sets out the programme for the Local Development Framework and was submitted to the GLA on 16 February 2010.
The GLA approved this on 12 March 2010 and it came into effect on 24 March 2010. The council will be revising this LDS. The statement below sets out the position at December 2011 with regard to progression of the Local Development Framework, pending revision of the LDS.
