Lambeth Local Development Scheme

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 introduced a requirement for local planning authorities to prepare and submit Local Development Schemes (LDS) to government offices for future approval.

Local Development Schemes are public statements of a local planning authority's intended programme of preparation of planning documents for three years ahead.

Lambeth's first two LDSs were dated March 2005 and December 2005. These have now been superseded by a new LDS which sets out the programme for the Local Development Framework and was submitted to the Government Office for London (GOL) on 19 December 2005.

GOL approved this on 15 January 2008 and it will come into effect on 15 February 2008.
