Background information about the preparation of the Lambeth UDP 2007 and its predecessor, the Lambeth UDP 1998.

The European Union Directive on Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) requires development plans not adopted by 21 July 2006 to be subject to an SEA unless such an assessment is not feasible.

The council has considered this issue in relation to the EU Directive, the Regulations, the sustainability appraisal it carried out and other relevant considerations, and has concluded that it would not be feasible.
