Energy grants, loans and schemes

There is some help available from Lambeth or the Government that covers the cost of heating, heating controls, cavity wall insulation, and loft insulation. To be eligible to apply you must meet the criteria.

Coldbusters

Lambeth has teamed up with the Coldbusters team to help residents in in the private sector (renting or owning) who receive certain benefits to make their homes warmer and more energy efficient.

If you currently claim any of the qualifying benefits (see the Coldbuster web page for a list of criteria) you could be eligible to receive free energy saving improvements, including energy efficient heating and insulation.

Health Trough Warmth

Health Through Warmth is a scheme run by energy company RWE/npower. It aims to help vulnerable people who have cold related illnesses and who therefore require assistance with the installation of heating and insulation measures that they cannot fully fund themselves.

Feed-in Tariff scheme

The Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme became available on 1 April 2010. Under this scheme energy suppliers make regular payments to householders and communities who generate their own electricity from renewable or low carbon sources such as solar electricity (PV) panels.
