Why become part of our social work team - Jo Cleary, Executive Director
Dear candidate,
Thank you for your interest in becoming part of our social care team.
At Lambeth adult social care is at the forefront in transforming public service delivery. We are committed to providing genuinely personalised services to our service users and this is a corporate priority.
Our adult social care services sustained a two stars rating from the Commission for Social Care inspection (CSCI) last year and we are ambitious about the future. If you join us, you could play an important part in improving outcomes for one of London’s most diverse communities.
I know that some social workers are anxious about what personalisation means for them, which is why I believe that our staff are integral to the process. Although our role in providing social care will change as citizens define how they want to be supported, the feedback we have got from staff who have been involved in delivering personalised services, is that it enables them to be more creative and return to what they originally trained to do.
Working in social care is never easy, but I, and a number of other senior managers in the department are registered social workers, so we value and understand the important role you play and the challenges you face.
Whether you have just graduated, or have many years of social care experience, Lambeth could be a great choice for your career. We believe it is important to invest in your future, so our social workers have recently been helping in the tender process for a university to deliver our social work training programme.
We also offer great career development prospects as we want to build a strong team for the future.
We are looking for people who are excited by the prospects of promoting independence, choice and control through partnership working as well as improving the quality of life of our citizens. At the same time, you will ensure we maintain the highest safeguarding standards and quality.
I hope this encourages you to apply for a social care role in the Adults' and Community Services department and we hope to welcome you into the team in the future.
Yours sincerely
Jo Cleary
Executive Director
