Lambeth Libraries

Not only can you borrow books, videos, DVDs, CDs, talking books and language courses from Lambeth libraries, there are also many literary events in libraries.

Apples & Snakes

Promotes poetry in performance through regular London Events programme, festivals and national tours. Also runs Poets in Education. Based in Battersea.

The Poetry School

The Poetry School offers a programme of classes to teach adults to write poetry. From the ongoing commitment of a year-long course to a burst of inspiration from a one-day workshop, they offer poets of all levels opportunity to improve your skills. They are open to everyone, regardless of qualifications or experience.

Spread the Word

Works with London writers at every stage of their development to enable them to achieve their full potential. They provide showcase events, professional career advice and workshops, and work in schools. Located on the Lambeth Walk.

Organization supporting the development of creative writing of all genres and in all educational and community settings throughout the UK.

National Association of Literature Developers

Offers a mixture of day seminars, training and mentoring programmes for literature specialists.

Booktrust

Provides a guide to literary prizes and a free fact sheet on grants and awards.

Literature Training

Central source of information on the wealth of training and professional development opportunities available in the UK, for writers and those involved in creating or supporting new writing and literature.
