Lost Theatre

Recent arrivals in Lambeth, Lost youth theatre company are now based in a brand new 180 seat theatre in Wandsworth Road. Each year Lost present 9 plays directed by professionals open to anyone 27 years or under, and 3 Festivals that encourage new writers and directors to stretch their talents.

The Old Vic

One of the oldest theatres in London, the Old Vic has probably played a more influential role in the history of British drama than any other playhouse.

The Old Vic Tunnels

The Old Vic has acquired the lease for these charming and mystical unused railway tunnels under Waterloo Station. This unique venue showcases productions, gigs and art exhibitions and will continue to be home to a variety of innovative and surprising arts events throughout 2011.

Oval House Theatre

Theatre based in Oval which develops new work from the cutting edge of performance, Black and Asian, lesbian and gay work in particular. It also runs classes and workshops in dance, drama and music for all ages and abilities, youth arts projects, an employment preparation project for local schools, rehearsal and meeting spaces and an art gallery.

Phoenix Players

The Phoenix Players are a well established amateur society that  perform two shows per year. They are currently open to new members.

Royal National Theatre

Prestigious London theatre.

Southbank Centre

Prestigious arts centre comprising the Royal Festival Hall, Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room.

South London Theatre

Community theatre operating on a members club basis. Two theatre spaces and a bar, producing 22 shows per year. Open to the public every Wednesday evening from 8pm (ask for the membership officer).

Spare Tyre Theatre Company

Spare Tyre uses and makes theatre that enables voiceless communities and individuals to share and celebrate their untold stories transforming lives and challenging prejudice.

White Bear Theatre Club

Young Vic

The Young Vic holds an extensive youth and education programme working closely with schools throughout the year. They run a summer youth theatre school bringing practice leaders from some of the most renowned theatre companies.

National organisations and resources


Equity

The only trade union to represent artists from across the entire spectrum of arts and entertainment. Their web site includes news, vacancies and other useful information.

Half Moon Young People's Theatre

Half Moon offers two inter-locking strands of activity - professional productions and participatory projects for young people. They provide youth, schools and community activities and specialise in delivering youth theatre and workshop sessions made for young people with disabilities.

Independent Theatre Council (ITC)

The management association and industry-lead body for performing arts organisations and individuals working in the fields of drama, dance, opera and music theatre, mime and physical theatre, circus, puppetry, street arts and mixed media.

National Council for Drama Training

Promotes standards of vocational training/education for professional actors and stage managers/technicians through course accreditation, a forum for discussion and lobbying.

Pants on Fire Theatre Company 

Ensemble driven theatre company which aims to craft original, dramatically dynamic, visually brilliant and widely accessible work.
