Arts and Education in Lambeth 

A Lambeth Officer's Arts and Education Forum has been set up to liase about current/projected arts programmes and opportunities across Lambeth schools.

We are supporting the London Schools Arts Service (LONSAS) as a way to support schools accessing artists and arts organisations for projects and partnership working.

LONSAS is the leading online Arts and Education resource for London schools. It matches schools with Artists and Arts Organisations online, promoting academic achievement and creativity throughout the curriculum.

The website was re-launched on 31 March 2006, and offers practical support, news and advice, as well as a vibrant new online Directory of Artists and Arts Organisations that work in education within London schools.

You can register for your free profile page on the LONSAS website. A profile allows you to:

• Showcase your work – advertise services, contribute to news and e-bulletins
• Manage your profile – add details of projects, productions, workshops
• Images – upload to your online gallery
• Interact – raise issues and share experiences in the discussion areas

All listed artists have provided evidence of recent CRB disclosure checks and school references.

LONSAS is a registered CRB umbrella body, processing applications through the Criminal Records Bureau on behalf of artists, arts organisations and members of the voluntary sector, working with young people.

LONSAS is a free service joint funded by Arts Council England, London and Department for Education and Skills (DfES) through London Challenge. By May 06, nearly 50% of London schools had registered as LONSAS members – a figure that continues to rise.
