Mosaic Classes with Art4Space

Come and learn about mosaics in the inspiring and relaxing Art4Space Community Arts Studio.  You will learn all aspects of mosaic and develop your own project.  The course will be led by one of our experienced tutors.  All materials included.

Where: Stockwell Studios, McCall Close, Stockwell, SW4 (10 mins from Stockwell Tube).
When: Tuesday evenings 6.30pm-9pm; last Sunday of every month 10-4pm.
Cost: £20 for drop in session; £90 for 5 week course; £185 for 10 week course; £45 Sunday classes.

Embrace Social Enterprise - Digital Photography Workshops

Range of one day workshops, looking at different aspects of practical digital photography and using computer software to edit photos. Workshops are run by professional photography tutors.

When funding is available Embrace run some free photography workshops, otherwise prices range from £40 upwards.

All the profits from workshops go towards funding Embrace Cooperation Ltd charitable projects.

London Printworks Trust

All courses are tailored to meet your specific requirements and you will receive dedicated technical support from their workshop co-ordinators. Includes a five-day introductory course in printed textiles and a one-day textile induction course.

Photofusion

Training and services
Photofusion provides access to professional standard colour and black and white darkrooms, studio and digital imaging facilities and supports photographers by providing career development workshops, skills-based training and portfolio reviews with industry professionals. Photofusion also offers top of the range bureau services at lower rates than anywhere else in London.

SPACE Training

SPACE Training has several opportunities open to both visual artists based in Hackney and also the rest of London. Training courses include approaching galleries, making a sale, marketing strategies, accessing funding, writing proposals and managing budgets, earning opportunities and tax and self employment.

Stage Management Association training

Introduction to events for stage managers
This is a general awareness course aimed at supporting those stage managers starting to work in the events industry. Speaker Matt Bunday is a freelance stage manager who also works on events fulfilling various roles from stage manager to event manager.

Areas covered will include:

  • differences between sectors in the industry (corporate, charity, festival)
  • how roles differ and who to talk to
  • advice on how to get into events
  • transferable skills and how you can work in the events sector

Date: Sunday 13 November, 11-2pm, coffee from 10.30am, seminar 11-2, then opportunity to talk to speaker until around 2.30pm.

Zoom-In Photography

Zoom-In is a popular, not-for-profit school for photography, enabling both individuals and community groups from the Greater London area to explore and engage with all aspects and all levels of photography. They offer short courses in photography, which can be taken as either evening or weekend workshops.

Their Photography Courses range from Beginners Photography through Intermediate Photographic Techniques to advanced Photography Skills. Aimed at both film and digital photographers, they cover everything from camera basics to new digital photographic techniques or the subtle arts of darkroom printing.
