The organisations and resources listed below provide advice about the arts.

Arts Council England

The Arts Council of England is a single arts funding and development organisation. The site is full of information, resources, links and funding news.

Artsadmin

Artsadmin provides a comprehensive management service to contemporary live art, mixed media, new theatre, dance and music artists, developing and promoting work from initial stages through to final presentation.

Arts and Business

Placement and training scheme operated by Arts and Business linking business personnel with arts organisations facilitating other partnerships between business and the arts.

ARVAC

The Association for Research in the Voluntary and Community Sector offers a free service to groups to undertake research, enabling groups to identify, plan operate or manage their research and improve research skills though training on-site.

British Council

The British Council connect people with learning opportunities and creative ideas from the UK to build lasting relationships around the world.

Charities Aid Foundation

Legal advice – 1st consultation free
Plus range of other services relating to setting up charities and funding.

Charity Commission  

Body regulating charity registration and operation. Fact sheet on legal requirements and guidance for trustees.

Creative Space Agency

The CSA links owners of vacant property (or their agents) with arts and cultural organisations and individuals needing space for short or long periods of time. 

Design and Artists Copyright Society

The Design and Artists Copyright Society - is the UK's copyright and collecting society for artists and visual creators. We exist to promote and protect the copyright and related rights of artists and visual creators.

Interchange Trust

Low cost legal and financial advisory service for arts organisation and the voluntary sector

LVAC (Lambeth Voluntary Action Council)

Provides information and advice for small groups in Lambeth. For a small charge you can become a member of LVAC and access their services.
They also run short training courses and advice sessions.

LVSC (London Voluntary Service Council)

Provides information and advice on a wide range of subjects: funding, equal opportunities, social policy, financial management and training for voluntary groups.

Live Art Development Agency (LADA)

LADA is a dedicated agency for London's Live Artists. It is part research tool, part training ground, part advisory service, part broker and part lobbyist.

MAiLOUT

Developing participation in the arts across the British Isles. A national organisation for the arts, MAiLOUT brings you news, discussion, special features, events, courses, conferences, funding... if it's happening it's in MAiLOUT, delivered to your door, every two months.

Media Trust

A Charity working in partnership with the media industry offering one-to-one support, training, events and information for the voluntary sector. Also offers volunteering.

Skills for Media

Provides general career and training advice to those looking to get into Media careers. Also provide information on Funding and skills requirements.

Social Enterprise London

The Beeline Social Directory is made up of over 500 London-based social enterprises and support organisations aims to encourage networking among 'virtual clusters' of social enterprises.

Vision in Art

Vision in Art (ViA) is a not for profit organisation facilitating a London-wide network of visual artists in order to raise the profile of the visual arts and of those who practise them. ViA provides unique artist-led professional development services to enable: collaborative mentoring; artwork promotion; exchange of information about artistic opportunities; participation in community projects and events, and networking. ViA’s services have been, and continue to be, developed in close consultation with its artist membership.

Visiting Arts

Visiting Arts is the national agency for promoting the flow of international arts into the UK and developing related cultural links abroad to help build cultural awareness and positive cultural relations. Activities include advice, information, training, consultancy, publications, special projects and project development. They cover the performing arts, visual, applied and media arts, crafts, design, literature, film, and architecture.

Voluntary Arts Network

UK development agency for the voluntary arts. Services include: quarterly newsletter; briefing sheets offering advice on various issues; specialised arts management training/research for organisations; publications.
