Learning in libraries

Basic skills

All our libraries now have software on the People's Network to help you learn basic computer skills. As well as in English you can now choose to learn in Arabic, Bangla, Polish, Somali or Urdu.

Once you are logged in and on the internet page at your local library, just click on the First Steps icon and you can begin.

ESOL classes

If you wish to improve your English Language skills the following classes take place in West Norwood and Streatham Libraries for those whose first language is not English.

West Norwood Library

• Tuesday 10am to 12pm
• Wednesday 10am to 12pm

10 weeks course January to March

Streatham Library

• Monday 10am to 12pm

English conversation group

If you would like to practise your English in an informal setting come along to Streatham Library every Monday for English conversation in a relaxed atmosphere 7 to 8pm.
