Carnegie Library is in a residential area close to Denmark Hill and Herne Hill.
Carnegie Library is a picturesque Grade II listed building, combining framework with Tudor style mullioned and leaded windows.
It offers books, DVDs and CDs for loan, a reference and information service, and free use of computers for internet, email and word-processing. The Library holds a small collection of books in French. We also have online resources and services for you to use.
Carnegie Library update
Exciting things are happening for Carnegie Library! In July 2012 a report was discussed at a Cabinet meeting looking at how library buildings could be used in different ways to benefit our local communities and how we could encourage more people to use them.
After this meeting, the Carnegie Library Project Group was set up and is working with the Council to explore new ways in which Carnegie Library could be used that attracts more people to the building while continuing to provide a library service.
We would really like to hear from you and have your input into how the library could be used in the future. Later in the year we will be holding some public events so we can ask you about the building and how you think it could be used.
- Keep an eye on the website and on notice boards in and outside the library for further details about these events.
