The Upper Norwood Joint Library is an independent library service. It is funded by Croydon and Lambeth Councils, but is not part of either borough's library services.

It has its own policies and procedures and is managed by a Joint Committee of elected members (four from each borough).

It also has its own membership procedures and circulation system and is thus unable to accept Lambeth or Croydon library membership cards. Please also note that UNJL cannot accept (or renew) returned books or other items that have been borrowed from Lambeth or Croydon libraries.

The opening hours for the library are:

• Monday - closed
• Tuesday - 10am to 7pm *
• Wednesday - closed
• Thursday - 9am to 7pm *
• Friday - closed
• Saturday - 9am to 5pm
• Sunday - closed

* Closed for lunch 1 to 2pm
