Adult Fiction
Room - Emma Donoghue
- The girl who played with fire - Stieg Larsson
- A week in December - Sebastian Faulks

There were some great reads in 2011 and some fantastic new novels published, many of which have now made their way into films. Emma Donoghue's Room returned to the top of the list over Xmas.
Adult Non-Fiction
Life in the UK - Home Office

Leisure reading seems to have taken back seat for a while with people upskilling themselves. Caitlin Moran's Costa Prize winner 'How to be a woman' doesn't quite come in this category and it seems readers must be looking at some long distance travel as well.

Children's favourite Eric Hill has taken top spot this month with the best dog ever - Spot! Other long time favourites are all Christmas goodies.
DVD
The Tree of Life: Director: Terrence Malick. Actors: Brad Pitt, Sean Penn
The Tree of Life is the impressionistic story of a Texas family in the 1950s. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father. Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith.
