Ready Steady Go!
Do you want a healthier, happier child? We can show you how!
Ready Steady Go! (RSG) is a programme that is dedicated to helping children and their families live healthier lives. Our service is available to families with children between the ages of 4 to 12.
We have a range of structured and flexible programmes that encourage physical activity, nutritional education and behavioural change. Our programme is aimed at helping families in Lambeth make healthier lifestyle decisions and with new locations for courses being set up across the borough, it is now widely accessible to all. Ready Steady Go! can help make a positive impact on the lives of your children and it’s completely free! So sign up today!
Why Ready Steady Go! is unique
Ready Steady Go! aims to tackle the main causes of an unhealthy lifestyle; increased sedentary time, reduced physical activity and not understanding enough about what we are eating. We have a selection of different programmes available that include not only physical activity and active play but also nutritional education and behavioural change too, which makes us stand out from the rest!
Our types of programmes
Structured MEND programme – 4 to 6 year olds
MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition and Do it) is designed for children who are above a healthy weight. Topics included in the sessions are portion sizes, label reading, techniques to help reduce fussy eating, alongside goals and rewards to help provide that extra bit of motivation. The children will take part in active play for an hour during each session. The programme is delivered once a week over 10 weeks and each session lasts for 1 hour 45 minutes. See below for course dates near you!
Structured MEND programme – 7 to 12 year olds
MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition and Do it) is designed for children who are above a healthy weight. Topics included in the sessions are portion sizes, label reading, supermarket tours and goals and rewards to help provide that extra bit of motivation. The children will take part in fun physical activity sessions for an hour during each session. The programme is delivered twice a week over 10 weeks and each session lasts for two hours. Flexible Saturdays
Need something a little more flexible? Our Saturday sessions run for one hour in the morning for eight weeks. This option gives all families and their children the opportunity to get involved at a time that is more suitable to modern family life!
Holiday activities
During half terms and all school holidays, Ready Steady Go! provides holiday activity sessions! These sessions run for four hours on two days and provide an excellent opportunity for children to get involved and get active!
Course dates
Our next courses begin on 22 April and our Flexible Saturday sessions will start on the 27 April. To find out more about our Flexible Saturday sessions and holiday activities please feel free to contact us (details below).
