London Youth Games 2008
The London Youth Games gives young people in Lambeth the chance to try out for a place in a team. Over 30 sports which range from archery to weight lifting are represented. The participants will experience a high standard of quality sports competitions while proudly representing their borough. Past competitors include Linford Christie and Brixton Basket Ball Clubs very own Leoul Deng (now NBA Chicago Bulls superstar).
If you are aged 9 – 18 and mad about your sport we would like to hear from you. The London borough of Lambeth is currently looking for enthusiastic young people to represent the borough in the 2008 London Youth Games. The Games are open to all young people who live or attend school in Lambeth.
Events are divided into two categories.
- Main Games
The Main Games are made up of 28 sports with the finals taking place on 5 – 6 July 2008. Some sports have preliminary rounds that begin in June.
- Mini Games
The Mini Games consist of eight sports designed especially for 9 - 11 year olds. The Mini Games will take place on 3 July 2008.

Lambeth Team Results
Basketball - Boys
The boys played against Brent, Richmond and Greenwich and won all three games. They now go through to the semi finals and finals on Saturday 28 June at Brixton Recreation Centre.
Basketball - Girls
The girls played games against teams from Kingston, Ealing and Harrow. They won all their games and are now through to the semi finals/finals on Saturday 28 June.
