PayByPhone parking

Woman holding phonePayByPhone parking is a quick, easy and secure way to pay for your parking.

Instead of paying for parking using cash in a meter or a pay and display machine, you can use your mobile phone to pay online, download the app, text or call us, and the parking charge is simply charged to your credit or debit card.

PayByPhone now available throughout Lambeth

Pay by phone meter stickerThe PayByPhone service was first introduced in Lambeth in the Waterloo Controlled Parking Zone. Due to the success of this scheme we are now making PayByPhone available throughout Lambeth.

If you want to park anywhere in Lambeth you can now easily set up a PayByPhone parking account. Once you have registered you can use your account to pay for parking wherever you see the PayByPhone signs on pay and display machines or parking meters.

PayByPhone by minutes or hours

On 26 March we made PayByPhone parking even easier when we introduced payment by minutes in Waterloo, giving you greater flexibility and convenience. You can now pay for parking by minutes or hours when using PayByPhone.

Later in 2013 we will be making further improvements to paying for parking when we introduce a new cash payment alternative.

What are the benefits of using PayByPhone?

  • Convenient - no need to leave the comfort of your car.
  • Quick - no need to find the right change for parking machines.
  • Increased choice - more ways to pay.
  • Easy - you can top up payments* from wherever you are without the need to return to your vehicle (*up to the maximum stay period).
  • Efficient - no more lost money in broken pay and display machines.
  • UK wide - once you have set up an account, you can pay in a number of different UK locations where you see the PayByPhone sign.
  • Reminders - you can choose to receive text messages about when your parking is about to expire.

How it works

Once you have registered you can pay for your parking sessions by using any of the four following ways:

You will need the location number that can be found printed on the pay by phone stickers on the pay and display machine or displayed on the time plate at that location.

Do I have to display a ticket in my car?

No, when you pay for parking by phone you do not get a ticket to display in your car.

How will the Civil Enforcement Officer know that I have paid?

As soon as you have successfully paid, the Civil Enforcement Officer's device is updated to show your licence plate number along with the start and end times of your parking session.

How do I extend a parking session?

To extend a parking session simply call or text before the expiry of your current session and enter the number of minutes you wish to park (up to the maximum stay). The extra parking time will automatically be added to your existing parking.

What does it cost to park and is it more to use than PayByPhone?

The parking rates for PayByPhone parking are no different from paying into a pay and display machine. Optional texts are charged at 10p per text.

Is it safe to make payments like this by mobile phone?

Yes, we are fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards so you can trust us with your payment card details.

How do I get VAT receipts for my parking?

You can choose to receive receipts by text or email when you register, or they are available online at www.paybyphone.co.uk.
