Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs)
We deal with the maintenance and enforcement of controlled parking zones.
What is a controlled parking zone (CPZ)?
A controlled parking zone (CPZ) is an area where parking is restricted during the controlled hours of operation. The main aim of the CPZ is to discourage commuter and long stay parking by people from outside the area.
Within a CPZ you will find several different types of parking restrictions. The controlled hours for single yellow lines will be displayed on the CPZ sign as you enter the zone.
In general, you are not allowed to park on single yellow lines between 8.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Saturday (unless additional time plates at the location state otherwise). Double yellow lines are controlled 24 hours a day.
The controlled hours for parking bays, such as residents' parking bays, can be found on the signs within the bay or you can find them on the CPZ map.
How does a CPZ work?
London Borough of Lambeth has twelve CPZs located mainly in the north. Each zone has its own controlled hours and these are shown on large signs as you enter the zone. However, on some streets the controlled hours may vary so you must always check the time plate for the parking bay you have left your vehicle in.
If yellow line restrictions apply at different times to the zone times, the different times are shown on separate time plates near the area of road that is affected.

You will find the names of the roads and associated map reference which you can search to find the zone these are in. The hours of control for all the controlled zones are listed on the right hand side of the document.
How do you have your say?
We consult fully with residents before introducing a new CPZ. Existing CPZs are also subject to review, and at that point we will again seek comments from everyone concerned.
Who to contact
Please let us know if there are any problems with a CPZ. You can also inform us of any changes in requirements, such as a designated disabled bay which is no longer needed.
