Penalty Charge Notice charges

Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) are issued on a system of band A and band B roads. Band A roads are those roads north of the South Circular (A205) and all roads in Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs). Band B roads are those south of the South Circular that are not in CPZs.

Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) are charged at a higher and lower rate depending on the seriousness of the contravention. The higher charge applies to contraventions associated with prohibited and dangerous parking, for example, to a motorist who double parks. The lower charge applies to all other contraventions, for example, to a motorist who overstays in a pay and display bay.

Pay and Display Charges

The hourly rate for parking in Pay and Display bays depends on which Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) you are parked in. Please adhere to the maximum time allowed on the time plate for that bay.

• For all or part of the first hour up to 2 hours - 40p per hour
• For all or part of the 3rd hour - £1.20 per hour.

Note: Maximum stay 3 hours.
