Parking on bank and public holidays
Care should be taken when parking during bank and public holidays as the regulations may differ from the usual hours of control.
Although certain restrictions are relaxed you should check all signs carefully before parking in order to avoid getting a penalty charge notice (PCN).
On bank holidays we operate a removal service during core hours. This is in the main to deal with obstructive and dangerous parking. Please park carefully on bank holidays to avoid your vehicle being removed to the Lambeth Car Pound.
Where restrictions will still apply
In general, parking restrictions will still apply to:
- bus stops
- disabled bays
- taxi bays
- police and ambulance bays
- double parking
- footway parking
- pedestrian crossings
- suspended bays
- double yellow lines
- loading restrictions.
Double yellow lines and loading restrictions
Double yellow lines and loading restrictions are also enforced as these stop vehicles parking at locations which could be dangerous or cause an obstruction by blocking sight lines for pedestrians and other road users.
Where restrictions will be relaxed
You are allowed to park in:
- residents' bays
- business bays
- pay and display bays
unless a parking suspension is in operation, or there is a timeplate which states restrictions are in force from Monday to Sunday.
Single yellow lines
You may also park on single yellow lines unless there is a timeplate which states restrictions are in force from Monday to Sunday. These can normally be found on adjacent lamposts.
Restrictions may change
As restrictions may change it is recommended that you check our website again before you park or contact us at Parking contacts for more information.
What to do if you receive a PCN
If you do receive a PCN during a bank holiday you may still challenge it. More details can be found at: Appealing against a Penalty Charge Notice.
