Parades and sporting events

In special circumstances, roads within the borough may be closed to allow for parades or sporting events.

Road closures for sporting events can only be closed once a year without the consent of the Secretary of State.

Demonstrations

Road closures for demonstrations cannot be dealt with by the council. They require a traffic regulation order which can only be granted with written permission from the Police.
