Litter bins

Over the last few years we have placed over 700 new litter bins around the borough. In order to maximise the usefulness of our bins we aim to position them by bus stops, schools and in busy shopping areas such as markets or high streets.

The bins are fixed to the ground using a special locking device which allows us to remove and replace them when required. This also ensures the pavement remains safe for pedestrians.

The bins are stippled to prevent them from being flyposted and detracting from the look of the area.

To report a damaged or overflowing bin, please call 020 7926 9000, email StreetCareCallCentre@lambeth.gov.uk or use our online street cleaning and sweeping request form.

You can also contact us to request a new bin. In this case, an agent will investigate the site and if agreed, it will be installed in the next round of placements.
