Windmill Drive Environmental Improvement and Road Safety Scheme

Windmill Drive proposals are for a permanent road closure, with the former road being returned to green space while maintaining cycle and pedestrian access.

The scheme would also include landscaping, tree planting and the removal of redundant street furniture. It is proposed to include vehicle turning areas at each end of the closure using a specialist surfacing, which while suitable for vehicular traffic would retain the appearance of grass.
