Each data protection request costs £10.

What you need to know...

The Act makes us responsible for handling your data securely and efficiently, and for ensuring we do not disclose it to other people or organisations without meeting legal conditions that protect your privacy (for example, we may have to ask your permission).

The Act also requires the council to register its use of personal information in the Data Protection Register which is kept by the Information Commissioner (a Government officer). Our Data Protection Policy outlines how we meet these responsibilities.

If you want to see the information we hold on you, please print out and fill in the Subject Access Request form above and send it to the address given on the form. Our Subject Access Request Policy outlines what is involved.

Police, solicitors, Inland Revenue (amongst others) making disclosure requests under the Data Protection Act should fill in the Section 29 and 35 form and return it to the council department they are making their request to.
