To apply for social housing in Lambeth (that is, council and housing association homes) you will need to join the housing register.

We are not able to offer a home to most people who apply to us for housing. We receive over 3,000 new housing applications a year, and there are currently about 20,000 people already on the housing list. In 2012/13, we offered 1,350 homes.

Contact the service centre to talk about applying for social housing.

Who can use this service

Anyone who has been resident in the Borough of Lambeth for at least two years can apply to join the housing list. Those who have not lived in the borough for two years may also join the list if:

  • You have left the regular armed forces in the last five years, or
  • You are living outside the borough in accommodation provided by Lambeth Council.
