Domiciliary Care Services – Contract Extensions
Decision maker: Divisional Director ACS Departmental Resources
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: Yes
Is subject to call in?: Yes
Purpose:
Extension of all domiciliary care contracts to facilitate procurement within a new strategic framework.
Decision:
The council currently operates two generic
domiciliary care contracts and 13 specialist domiciliary care
contracts.
This report seeks approval (under waiver) to extend the current
domiciliary care contracts until 31st March 2013, with an option to
extend for up to a further 6 months.
The extension period is requested as the council is shortly due to
commence a major procurement exercise of borough wide domiciliary
care services. The procurement exercise will also include the
provision of care and support services in extra care housing
schemes, the enablement service and the assessment for assistive
technology and community equipment. The anticipated end date of the
exercise is March 2013 with new contracts to commence on 1 April
2013.
