Lambeth's X-it programme, which offers young people an alternative to gang life, has won the prestigious children's services award in the Guardian newspaper's Public Services Awards.

Building schools for the future

Building Schools for the Future (BSF) is a government initiative that aims to promote a change in the quality of secondary education. This is a major project of replacing and refurbishing all local authority secondary schools in the country within the next 10-15 years.
