Jobs in regeneration or construction

Within Lambeth, there is currently a lot of development activity, particularly in the north of the borough, where thousands of jobs will be created. It is estimated that the Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea Regeneration, which spans Lambeth and Wandsworth boroughs and is the biggest regeneration area in Europe, will lead to the creation of more than 20,000 jobs over 20 developments during the next 15 years.

Opportunity Lambeth works with developers building major new schemes in the borough to agree how they can offer jobs, apprenticeships and training within the construction industry. It helps residents looking to work in the construction sector get ready to take advantage of job opportunities, including careers advice and employment support such as CV writing, matching to vacancies and interview preparation. It also delivers and makes referrals to sector-specific training courses such as CSCS and CPCS cards.

For more information, you can contact Opportunity Lambeth opportunitylambeth@lambeth.gov.uk.

Lambeth and Wandsworth Joint Coordination Unit has also been set up to make sure that local residents can take advantage of these opportunities, which will also include work experience and apprenticeships.
