Door to door transport

Some people find it difficult to use public transport due to their disability or mobility problems.

Community transport offers a number of different ways for people who would otherwise be unable to get out and about to visit shops and other local amenities

The Taxicard scheme gives residents with serious permanent mobility problems and those who are severely sight impaired, subsidised rides in licensed black taxis and private hire vehicles. Taxicard users can travel anywhere within London anytime, everyday.

If you're disabled and can't use public transport, try Dial-a-Ride:

  • it's a door-to-door service and great for getting out and about
  • it's free to join
  • you can use it for shopping, visiting friends and family and travelling to activities.

Disabled parking

If you're disabled or have a health condition that affects your mobility, you can apply for a Blue Badge parking permit. A Blue Badge helps you park closer to your destination and can be used across the country.

We also offer a White Badge parking permit which can only be used in Lambeth and also allows you to park closer to your destination if you're disabled. The scheme is intended to reduce the risk of Blue Badge theft.

If you have a Blue Badge, you can apply for a disabled people's parking bay to be created near to your home.
