We plan to install a series of cycle-friendly road humps along the stretch of road between Oval Way and Harleyford Street. The road humps will reduce general traffic speeds but can be comfortably cycled over.

What is the Central London Cycle Grid?

The Central London Cycling Grid will be a network of cycle routes in the central London area, mostly using quiet streets. The Grid is funded by Transport for London and delivered in partnership with London boroughs. In Lambeth the Central London Cycle Grid will extend from the river Thames in the north to Kennington Oval in the south. It will link with Cycle Superhighways and Cycle Quietways.

When is the work likely to start?

Road works to support the Cycle Grid and Quietways will start in the Autumn of 2015. We’ll contact local people to the time to let them know exact dates when work will be carried out in the Kennington Oval area.
