Lambeth’s Child Employment Team are in the process of updating existing byelaws. This will affect the employment of young people aged between 13 and 16 who are working in Lambeth.
We intend to apply to the Secretary of State for Education asking him to confirm the byelaws that have been made regulating the employment of children.
These byelaws seek, amongst other things, to regulate the types of work that children working in Lambeth may undertake and provides a locally administered scheme, which will govern the issuing of child employment (work) permits.
A copy of the byelaws is available below.
If you object to all or part of the byelaws, you can object in writing to the Secretary of State.
