Why are we proposing to install cycle storage on some estates in the borough?
We have identified that residents are keeping bikes on communal landings. This is an identified fire risk, and we therefore need to provide facilities for residents to keep bikes away from communal landings.
It is also Council policy to promote sustainable forms of transport and cycling is one of them.
We want to contribute towards improved air quality and healthy lifestyles by encouraging people to use bicycles.
We have been awarded Cooperative Local Investment Plan (CLIP) funding to install cycle storage on estates.
The estates outlined below have been identified through Estate Action Plans for the installation of cycle storage. Estate Action plans are agreed priorities for estates, developed in consultation with residents, elected members and Tenants and Residents Associations.
